I have been a Bee Gees fan since 1979 when I was 13 years old. I was amazed when I first heard Too Much Heaven on the UNICEF concert where they gave that song away for charity. I remember how amazed I was to hear someone sing so high and beautiful. And I had never heard of the Bee Gees before.
The first record I ever bought was of course Spirits Having Flown and I thought it was magic. The next record was 20 Greatest Hits and on that record I heard songs from 1967 to 1975. The record after that was Early Days Vol 3 and I heard songs from the early sixties. I remember that I thought that on these three records I had heard songs in a variety of styles and I really loved all of them, songs with very good melodies. It really showed what talent these guys had in making music, from early on and how they had developed up until then.
I have since then collected every album and every song I could find and to date I have a total of 739 different songs written by one or more of the Gibb brothers.
What I really care about are the individual songs, not necessary all different albums. I want to have all the different compositions they have done and I really think the Gibb brothers are true masters in music. I feel so good when I listen to their music.
